Christmas Assistance

Families have a choice between shopping for children at the Community Christmas Store or filling a Christmas Basket. Families may apply for only one program. Income guidelines do apply.

Community Christmas Store - Parents pay $5.00 per child to shop.  The store will feature NEW clothing, winter apparel, blankets, books and toys for the parents to select from.

Christmas Baskets - Families receive all the ingredients for a traditional holiday meal.

All children, age birth to twelve, from qualifying families for both programs, will have their names placed on the Angel Tree at Midwest Bank.

Applications are accepted between October 1 and the day before Thanksgiving.

Call our office at 309-734-4251 to apply.

Program Flyer

With a tear in her eye, the woman shared that her son had never had clothing from Kohl’s before.  She was really excited for him to open his gifts Christmas morning. What a blessing the Community Christmas Store is for all of us.  Every child should have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas; our community can share the joy of giving, and every parent should be able to relish in their children’s excitement.

The Angel Tree is sponsored by Midwest Bank.

Funding for the  Community Christmas Store and Christmas Baskets is provided by Jamieson Community Center and MANY generous donations from our community.  Hundreds of people from area churches, businesses and organizations provide blankets, books, toys, coats, gloves and hats for each child.  JCC buys the clothing based on the sizes provided by parents on the application.
