Life doesn't always go as planned
Samantha and her husband both lost their jobs. She called Jamieson Community Center to sign her children up for the Summer Meals program. She was invited to come to the food pantry. However, she did not come right away.
Samantha shared, “It wasn’t until my third trip to Jamieson that I finally worked up the nerve to actually go to the pantry door. I was really surprised by what I found. There was no judgment, just a friendly welcome, and the food I got made a big difference for our family.” After further conversations she signed her children up to receive school supplies through the S.T.A.R.S. program, she was eligible to shop at the Christmas Store for her children and we encouraged her to contact WIRC to sign-up for LIHEAP for bill pay assistance.
