Senior Nutrition

With partial funding from Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging,  United Way of Greater Warren County, and the Moline Foundation we provide a Senior Nutrition program
in Henderson, Mercer, and Warren Counties for people 60 and older.    

 

People with limited mobility may be eligible to receive home delivered meals on a temporary or indefinite basis.  Call 309-734-4251 for details. Service typically begins the next week.

 

The congregate meal site at the Mercer County Senior Center in Aledo is open.  Call 309-337-1938 to make your reservation.  Reservations need to be made by 12 noon the day before you would like to eat lunch.

The congregate meal sites in Henderson County are open.  Serving meals on Monday at Community Senior Citizens of Stronghurst and meals served on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Henderson Senior Center/Township Hall in Oquawka.  Call 309-371-4139 to make your reservation.  Reservations need to be made by 12 noon the day before you would like to eat lunch.

Senior Nutrition survey had a 95% satisfaction rate.

One of our Senior Nutrition participants called to thank us,  "the lunch was great and to be honest, I probably would not eat if it's not ready for me."

Another Senior Nutrition participant sent us a thank you note.  "The meals are always very good!  This is the best thing that's happened for us.  It has helped me so much.  I appreciate everything you do.  Thank you for helping take care of the senior community."
