Increasing food security

Senior Nutrition

With partial funding from Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging and the Warren County United Way, we provide a Senior Nutrition program in Warren and Henderson Counties.  All people 60 and older qualify.  Illinois Department on Aging has mandated the closing of all congregate meal sites for seniors until further notice.  This proactive measure is intended to reduce the risk of coronavirus.  Our meal sites in Monmouth, Kirkwood, Roseville, Oquawka and Stronghurst are closed effective March 12.  If you are over 60 and need food, call our office at 309-734-4251.  Home-bound seniors meeting eligibility requirements can receive home delivered meals for themselves and caregiver on a temporary or indefinite basis.

We serve more than 28,000 meals each year to area seniors.  For information on the impact of nutrition for older adults, we invite you to read The Facts Behind Senior Hunger from the National Council on Aging Care.
