Senior Nutrition
With partial funding from Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging, United Way of Greater Warren County, and the Moline Foundation we provide a Senior Nutrition program
in Henderson, Mercer, and Warren Counties. All people 60 and older qualify.
We are phasing in reopening our congregate meal sites. This proactive measure is intended to reduce the risk of coronavirus.
The congregate meal site at the Mercer County Senior Center in Aledo is open. Call 309-337-1938 to make your reservation. Reservations need to be made by 12 noon the day before you would like to eat lunch.
If you are over 60 and require food, call our office at
309-734-4251. People 60 and older can receive home delivered meals on a temporary or indefinite basis.
We serve more than 55,000 meals each year to area seniors. For information on the impact of nutrition for
older adults, we invite you to read The Facts Behind Senior Hunger from the National Council on Aging Care.
As we age, healthy eating can make a difference in our health, help to improve how we feel, and encourage a sense of well-being.
